Perhaps you have already guessed that my One Little Word for this year is BALANCE.
I went back and forth multiple times between balance, courage, and open, but eventually settled on balance. To be truly in balance one must have a certain amount of courage or you wouldn’t step up onto that high wire where balance is key. And an open heart, one willing to share and to speak, is necessary to maintain balance.
Plus, I’ve been thinking a lot the last few months about physical balance and how much we need to work on the ability to stand strong and resilient in life. So count on working on some balancing poses in our yoga classes over the coming months. Even letting go of the wall of the chair takes courage and openness!
I’ve been looking for balance in my writing life for some time now. It’s an important piece of me that tends to go by the wayside as I maintain my work in the yoga studio. This blog post would normally find its way to my writing blog, (Here’s the link if you have an interest in reading past posts there.) but I haven’t managed to post much there in the last few months. I post about once a month with a group of writer friends in a meme called Spiritual Journey Thursday. So I’ll be moving that post here this year. Ruth at There’s No Such Thing as a God-forsaken Town is hosting our roundup today if you’d like to read more One Little Word posts. And feel free to join in. Write a post on your blog, go to Ruth’s blog and post your link there.
More on balance to come!
