Our workshop is for current and future pregnant women looking to become empowered with birth education and strong yoga movement.  The cost of the workshop is $65.

Bringing Yoga to Birth

Individual classes will cost $20 and workshop only will be $65, dependent upon space availability.

Active for Life

Active for Life

Sue Royer, our Senior Exercise Specialist, will be teaching Active for Life beginning January 10. It will be a 7-week series designed to keep you active and strong, able to climb stairs, get up and down from the floor, and stay healthy. You can purchase the entire series for $70 for a little savings or use your class cards as usual. Classes will be held every Thursday at 4:30 p.m. January 10 - February 21.

This 45-minute class will include movement, pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation led by studio owner, Doraine Bennett. It will be a 7-week series. Students are encouraged to purchase the entire series for $70 for a little savings or use current class cards as usual.

Set a Dristhi for the New Year

It’s the end of year, which means the beginning of the New Year is right around the corner. There is always something fresh and exciting about the New Year. The creative ideas of explorative travel and the lofty goals of personal health always come to the surface. They seem so crisp and attainable. This year, it’s going to happen. Around March or April, the newness of the year wears off. The excitement of the aspirations becomes dull and by the time October hits and they have almost been forgotten. The calendars flip to another December, this year will be different. 

This is not the story for everyone and it does not have to be your story again. Join us as we share a process of reflective contemplation and intentional goal setting for 2019. Yoga Inspired will provide the space and time for you to create your drishti, where you will set your eyes for the New Year. Join us as we set our drishti as means of developing concentrated intention toward our aspirations of the new year. 

The class will be held on New Years Day and will be limited to 20 students, so please register ahead of time to secure your spot. The 75-minute class will start at 10 a.m. and cost $20. 

Your year will be changed by simply setting your eyes to where you aim.

Strength in the Pelvic Floor

Studies have shown that toning the pelvic floor can improve urinary incontinence. Strengthening the pelvic floor can also help with some forms of bladder, uterine, and rectal prolapse. 

Join Doraine Bennett at Yoga Inspired and Joanne O'Connor, HPRC, physical therapist and pelvic floor specialist, for a workshop that will help you find answers to problems in the pelvic floor. 

In this workshop you will learn:

  • Why glute strength is important.

  • The correct way to do Kegel exercises (often known as mula bhanda in the yoga world).

  • Identify how your pelvic floor and the breath work together.

  • Use your breath to reduce stress and pain.

No prior yoga experience is necessary to attend this workshop.        

Space is limited. Bring your own yoga mat if you have one. A limited number of mats are available.

Pain in the Pelvic Floor, Part 1

Due to many requests, Doraine and Joanne will repeat this Part One workshop on learning to relax the pelvic floor. (Part 2, to be scheduled at a later date) will focus on strengthening the pelvic floor.) 

Do you experience pelvic pain, constipation, painful periods, painful intercourse, menopausal symptoms, urinary hesitancy and or urgency,  or struggle with Kegel exercises to control bladder leakage?
