Strength in the Pelvic Floor


Studies have shown that toning the pelvic floor can improve urinary incontinence. Strengthening the pelvic floor can also help with some forms of bladder, uterine, and rectal prolapse. 

Join Doraine Bennett at Yoga Inspired and Joanne O'Connor, HPRC, physical therapist and pelvic floor specialist, for a workshop that will help you find answers to problems in the pelvic floor. 

In this workshop you will learn:

  • Why glute strength is important.

  • The correct way to do Kegel exercises (often known as mula bhanda in the yoga world).

  • Identify how your pelvic floor and the breath work together.

  • Use your breath to reduce stress and pain.

No prior yoga experience is necessary to attend this workshop.        

Space is limited. Bring your own yoga mat if you have one. A limited number of mats are available.
